Want to try a few ChatGPT blogging prompts? Keep on reading!
At this point in the game, you probably aren’t new to the AI world when it comes to content creation. And if you are, well… Welcome back from the rock you’ve been living under!
(Kidding).
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that uses natural language processing to generate human-like responses to prompts. Basically, it’s like you’re conversing with a robot assistant to help with your blog!
ChatGPT can be a game-changer for bloggers needing to keep up with fresh and engaging content ideas for their audience. But, using artificial intelligence for copywriting and content creation is also a hot and highly debated topic in the industry right now! Some people think using AI-generated content for your business is inauthentic and unoriginal.
Me?
I think AI is an awesome tool to help simplify creating and make our jobs as entrepreneurs easier. By no means is it meant to replace human storytelling and building connections with our audience, but it CAN be a great tool for idea generation.
If you are blogging for SEO, you know you need consistent content to keep Google happy and increase your search traffic. ChatGPT can help so much with that!
In this post, I’ll share a quick guide to using ChatGPT, so you can stop stressing about new content ideas for your blog!
So, let’s dive right into my favorite ChatGPT blogging prompts to boost SEO!

What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an AI chatbot developed by the research laboratory, OpenAI. It uses natural language processing to generate human-like responses to your prompts.
It uses natural language processing to analyze massive amounts of text data and learn how language works, allowing it to generate responses that mimic human conversation. While ChatGPT can be used for a wide range of applications, including customer service and language translation, it’s particularly useful for bloggers looking to improve their content strategy.
By generating content ideas and prompts, ChatGPT can help bloggers create consistent content that resonates with their audience (and Google!).
At its core, ChatGPT is an amazingly powerful tool to generate ideas for your blog – but what you put in is what you get out. So if you want high-quality blog output using ChatGPT prompts, make sure to use some of the ones outlined in this blog post!
Getting to know ChatGPT
I find it helpful to “introduce yourself” to ChatGPT, and share a bit about yourself, your business, your target audience, and what you hope to accomplish out of ChatGPT.
Just like you would introduce yourself to a person before diving into super detailed topics or engaging in a little “small talk,” if you will, I find it helpful to set the tone with ChatGPT before I dive into a particular task.
Provide some basic instructions before your prompt. Then, ask ChatGPT to respond, “Yes, I understand,” before it proceeds to generate a response.
For example, when starting a new chat, you could say:
“Hi, My name is Natalie. I’m a fitness instructor for new moms, and I share quick fitness tips on my blog. I’m writing a blog post about 5-minute fitness activities you can do with no equipment postpartum. Can you help me with a few tasks related to this post?
Reply “Yes, I understand” before generating a response.”
Then enter a prompt related to your task, like:
“Write 3 headlines for this blog post about quick 5-minute no-equipment fitness activities for new moms”
And watch ChatGPT go!
Was the result not what you expected? The benefit of this AI writing assistant tool is that it is open to feedback! That’s why it’s ChatGPT 😀
Refine the output with another prompt:
Now, I am not a personal trainer – but as a new(ish) mom getting back into a fitness routine, I know a five-minute plank is not realistic and would be immediately crossed off my list.
But, you could use these ideas from ChatGPT and infuse your expertise – maybe create a 5-minute circuit that includes squats, planks, lunges, jumping jacks, and wall sits in your blog post.
How to Use ChatGPT Prompts for Blogging
As you know, when it comes to ChatGPT, what you put in is what you get out of it. If you input a really crappy prompt and expect it to deliver 5-star results, you’ll be sorely disappointed!
When using ChatGPT to help with your blogging tasks, it’s important to provide clear, descriptive, high-quality prompts. The more specific your prompt is, the better results you’ll get!
If you’re reading this blog post, you know that using ChatGPT prompts for blogging can be a great way to save time and come up with fresh content ideas. But to get the most out of this tool, it’s important to provide clear and specific prompts tailored to what you hope to get out of the tool.
There are so many great ways to use ChatGPT to help with blogging – and I don’t mean for writing your blog posts!
I personally don’t like using AI tools to create a complete done-for-you post. Instead, I like to use it for brainstorming, researching, and idea generation for my blog!
Here are some ways you use ChatGPT blogging prompts:
1. Researching your target audience
A great way to use ChatGPT is to research your target audience. You can ask specific questions about your ideal clients, their pain points, and their struggles so you can gain valuable insights and create content that resonates with them.
For instance, if you want to target new moms who are looking to find more time for themselves and start a fitness routine, you can ask ChatGPT to generate prompts like “What are three fears new moms may have about starting a fitness routine postpartum”
If you are targeting mom influencers who want to monetize their blog with affiliate links, ask, “What are common mistakes lifestyle influencers in the mom niche make when using affiliate links to monetize their blogs?”
If your target audience is busy working professionals that struggle to make time for themselves, try prompting ChatGPT with “What is the biggest challenge busy working professionals face when trying meditation?”
If you are a chiropractor serving people that deal with chronic pain, prompt ChatGPT with: “What are common misconceptions people in chronic pain have about holistic approaches to pain management?
Using targeted prompts to better understand your audience helps you generate high-quality content ideas that resonate with your blog readers!
2. Brainstorming Blog Topics
As bloggers, one of our biggest challenges is constantly coming up with new and interesting topics to write about in our niche! ChatGPT shines here because it is great for coming up with ideas for your next blog post.
Use ChatGPT to brainstorm tons of blog post ideas for your industry or your clients! It’s useful to have a tool like ChatGPT, especially when you find yourself hitting a creative block at work.
For example, as a travel blogger, you could ask ChatGPT to “Generate 5 blog post ideas for a travel blog about budget-friendly destinations in Europe”
If you blog about sustainable living, ask ChatGPT to “Write a list of 10 ways to live more Sustainably in the City” or “Create a list of benefits of gardening for sustainable living.”
Using ChatGPT to generate blog post ideas saves time and mental energy! Now you can use that extra time to actually write and create those blogs.
3. Generating Headline Ideas
Use ChatGPT to create catchy, attention-grabbing headlines for your blog posts. If you want more clicks from Google, you know that starts with crafting a compelling headline to draw readers in and get them interested in your post.
Coming up with great headlines can be a challenge (when I’m stuck, I like to use MonsterInsights Free Headline Analyzer) – especially if you feel creatively uninspired.
By prompting ChatGPT with your blog topic and any relevant keywords or phrases, you can generate dozens of potential headlines tailored to your post.
For example, if you run a blog about healthy gluten-free eating and chronic illness, you can prompt ChatGPT with “Create 5 SEO headlines for a blog post about the benefits of gluten-free diets for autoimmune diseases.”
For a fashion blog for mid-sized women, try a prompt like “Write 10 attention-grabbing headlines for a mother-daughter matching set round-up post.”
4. Creating Blog Outlines
Besides figuring out what to write about, one of the hardest parts of blogging is actually writing the content.
Using ChatGPT blogging prompts can help you create a clear structure for the topics to cover in your blog post.
As a reiki healer, you can use ChatGPT to “Create an outline for a blog post on the benefits of reiki for stress relief.”
For an accountant sharing bookkeeping tips on their blog, prompt ChatGPT with “Generate an outline for a blog post on monthly bookkeeping tasks for small businesses,” and you’ll get a list of key points to include in your post!
5. Researching Statistics*
*I saved this tip for last, and I want you to use it WITH CAUTION.
ChatGPT uses the GPT-3 (and if you are a paid subscriber, possibly GPT-4), which uses data from 2021. That means you won’t be able to use ChatGPT to see who won the Super Bowl this year.
So, if you choose to use ChatGPT to research facts and statistics to include in your blog post, make sure you fact-check those with a reputable source (like, maybe one you find on Google).
ChatGPT is known for generating incorrect responses when it comes to data like this, which is why you should proceed with caution!
Personally, I like to brainstorm the types of statistics that would be useful to include in a blog post and then research those statistics on my own.
For the reiki blog post, here is a detailed output from ChatGPT when I prompted it with: “I’m writing a blog post on the benefits of reiki for stress relief. What stats would be useful to include to strengthen the blog post? I’ll research the stats myself unless you have verified sources.”
Since ChatGPT listed a few journals and surveys, you could do your own research with those direct sources to verify that those figures are correct.
You can see from these prompts the output is of high quality – simply because I am clear and descriptive about what I’m providing ChatGPT!
